JOEL K. LINEBACH

Joel K. Linebach is a choreographer, performer, and interdisciplinary artist creating contemporary dance works rooted in physicality, systems, and human connection. Drawing from both contemporary movement practices and his background in polymer science, his choreography investigates emergence, materiality, structure, and collective interaction through highly physical, visually immersive performance environments. His work often blends athletic partnering, sculptural imagery, repetition, and evolving spatial architectures to create dances that are both visceral and conceptually driven. He explores how bodies organize, adapt, and transform within interconnected systems. Alongside choreographic creation, his interdisciplinary research examines embodied learning and the relationship between movement, material systems, and scientific thinking. Based in Northeast Ohio, Linebach creates work that seeks to bridge rigorous conceptual inquiry with accessible, deeply human performance experiences.
