PHASIC
WORK DESCRIPTION
We live in a world sustained by plastics, materials made from long, patterned molecules called polymers. These polymers inherently have macro- and microstructured phases that waver between highly-ordered forms (like lamellar sheets and spherulites) and forms with no order, and these dictate the strength and durability of our everyday items. PHASIC utilizes these ordered (crystalline) and non-ordered (amorphous) phases as seed material to both demonstrate and explore interphase dynamics of polymers through contemporary dance.
This dance was commissioned for the Cleveland Dance Festival 2025.
This dance was supported by an Assembly for the Arts Boost Fund.
