-MER

WORK DESCRIPTION

-MER utilizes dance as a method of demonstrating concepts of polymer physics (e.g., coil-globule transition, step growth and chain polymerization) and biology (e.g., cell movement, dorsal closing of amnioserosa), effectively using these concepts as seed concepts for movement both for the dancers and the group’s spatial placement on stage. The work will see the dancers moving together and apart as they emulate polymeric chains in multiple groupings while experimenting with group dynamics in both traditional and non-traditional partnering techniques.
