Tonal
WORK DESCRIPTION
Funded in part under the auspices of the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities at Case Western Reserve University with a Graduate Research Grant, Tonal is a continuation of creative research using wearable technology that yields an audible intersection of movement and sound.
Tonal is a development of Linebach’s previous work, utilizing wearable technology in contemporary dance. The creative research investigates the use of wearable technology to explore the intersection of movement and sound. Rather than individual sounds and accenting in Kinetic Echoes, Tonal explores the dancer’s movement as a multi-dimensional instrument, combining whimsical movement with complex musical composition.
